Kasi Comedy Night: Springtime Shenanigans at Jordan’s Ways of Cooking!
On September 5, 2024, Jordan’s Ways of Cooking in Langa township was the epicenter of laughter for Siqhamo Media’s Kasi Comedy Night, where the spring vibes were as fresh as a just-baked kota. Hosted by the unstoppable Kritsi Yespaza, whose wit was sharper than a braai knife, the night was a non-stop giggle fest, with DJ Sive Msolo spinning tracks that had the crowd grooving like it was a township street bash.
Smowkey Nyembe kicked things off, firing off jokes about springtime in Langa—think uncles polishing their cars for no reason and aunties starting “new season, new me” diets that last until the next shisanyama. The crowd was howling already. Next up, KG brought his kasi swagger, roasting everything from dodgy barbershop fades to the chaos of spring-cleaning a spaza shop. His punchlines hit like a perfectly timed taxi hoot.
Mira took the stage with her signature sass, poking fun at township spring flings and WhatsApp groups blowing up with “new look” selfies. The laughter was so loud, it nearly drowned out the sizzle from Jordan’s kitchen! Closing the night, Lungelo Ndlovu had us in tears with his take on Langa’s spring fever, including why every dog in the township suddenly thinks it’s a DJ with all that barking. Kritsi Yespaza kept the energy sky-high, tossing in cheeky quips that had the crowd roaring between sets.
